Why 50 First Dates Still Hits the Heart in 2025

Movie Review: 50 First Dates directed by Peter Segal

Hey Y’all, Dearest Readers!

Here I am to share my thoughts on a kidney-touching romantic-comedy movie (yes, it’s more than just heartwarming!), that you might have already watched and loved it just as much as I did… or maybe not! Either way, I couldn’t resist writing about this sweet little gem from 2004: 50 First Dates.

So, without any more dawdling, let’s dive right into my thoughts on this feel-good classic!

This is the movie where the hero is like,

“I will make you fall in love with me every day”

And the heroine? She is the literal definition of

“I fall in love with you every day”

Isn’t that just Beautiful!?

The film is Set in relaxing and vibrant backdrop of Hawaii (Oahu and surrounding islands), giving it an exotic vibe where Henry Roth, A marine veterinarian, who’s afraid of commitment falls in love at the first sight when he meets Lucy Whitmore, A woman with short-term memory loss caused by a car accident and as a result she wakes up thinking it’s the same day and relives it~~~ Oopsies! Even I got disappointed when I found that out… it’s sad right?

But guess what?! Henry was head over heels for Lucy, the blonde beauty, becomes the women of his dreams! And from then on, he devotes himself to make her fall in love with him. He pursued her, introducing himself again and again, making her fall in love with him every single day!!!

And guys, trust me! this is what I loved the most about the movie: THE EFFORTS!

The efforts Henry puts in every time for the women who forgets him within just 24 hours~ Henry never gives up. He finds a new way to meet her, charm her, and care for her - every. single. day.

One moment that completely stole my heart was when Lucy takes Henry into her art studio. The walls are filled from floor to ceiling with portraits of him.
Even though she doesn’t consciously remember him, he's there, deeply etched in her subconscious… in her dreams, in her hands, in her art.
He literally became the man of her dreams!!!

If you haven’t watched the movie 50 First Dates (2004) yet, I suggest you watch it when you feel bored and have a dull day! I guarantee you’ll get a full package of belly laughing and spirit boosting!

And here’s a little reminder from me to you:

“Action speaks louder than words”

So, when you love someone for a long time! Don’t just say it; show them! Put in some efforts! Writing a note with love or giving a flower once in a while helps your love bloom beautifully~

Thanks for reading, and I hope you enjoyed reading what I’ve written.

Have a Lovely Life
